Meet Shiao-Hua Kwong
Experienced Clinical Psychologist in Melbourne
Shiao-Hua provides psychological therapy to support wellbeing of individuals over 17 years of age. She is fluent in multiple Chinese languages (Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka) and English. Her consulting room is located in Carlton; she also provides consultation via telehealth.
Shiao-Hua believes that a safe and secure relationship between therapist and client is key to effective therapy. You will be received with warmth, empathy and compassion. She will work collaboratively with you to develop a tailored treatment plan that will help you make lasting change.
Shiao-Hua works hard to provide the highest quality care, using the latest evidence-based psychological treatment approaches. Self-compassion forms the foundation of Shiao-Hua’s therapeutic approach: she believes that self-compassion is one of the most powerful tool in strengthening emotional resilience and mental health.
Bipolar disorder is a special area of interest in Shiao-Hua’s work. Conditions that she treats includes common presentation of depression, anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, relational trauma and more.
